In fact, I bet they have already, but need to develop their young players first and foremost and have made that clear so he's waiting on a better opportunity

What we know for sure is that pc has clearly bet on his own young players to surround Connor on the cheap. He's gonna give the pujus, slepyshevs, nurses , caggiula etc an opportunity at quality minutes and see what they can do.
Which makes some sense for now and especially the future. It's a gamble though and while it's totally guesswork on my part, I'd bet he's already spoken to jagr.
In a perfect world, he's still around come October and pc can make a decision after gaining more info.

Jagr probably only wants to play on cup contending teams, and wants a decent chunk of cash knowing his can still play 2nd line hockey.

Being 45 and having that mindset never helps in getting a contract.

Maybe because Jagr could be your daddy...

MTL makes the most sense with there glut of speedy midgets who can't score with any consistency, why not mix it up. He has played enough with plecanics internationally to be an effective wing on an above average third line. Nasty power play option as well.

He's probably looking for at least 4.5 mill and he's going to have to accept a low dollar, bonus laiden deal. Something like 1.5 with incentives for games played, points, minutes etc. Is he going to do that? Not when he can get decent money in the KHL.

I could see this happening also. Similar to the kris Russell deal where Reinhart didn't turn out so they went out and signed him to a one year.

What makes you think teams haven't reached out? Decent chance Jagr wants 4m and top 6 minutes from either a team that has a strong chance to win a Cup, or is at least near a beach.
